Finance and Operations Manager

As a Finance and Operations Manager you will create and own financial processes, execute on accurate and timely invoicing and collections, and develop reports to support decision making across all departments in partnership with our accounting team. Valcre is looking for a driven and hands-on team member who is motivated to maintain and distribute insights and reports regularly to inform operational decisions. The Finance and Operations Manager will have the opportunity to grow within the role and have strategic influence on business decisions, while getting hands-on experience and learning within a supportive environment.

To thrive in this role, you should be extremely detail oriented and be able to execute with a high level of urgency. You will leverage your experience with reporting of financial and operating metrics and partner with our VP Operations and founders to prepare for regular executive and investor meetings. You will partner with business leaders to support day-to-day reporting on operational results, KPIs and budgets. You will work to understand each business partner’s functional area and leverage that knowledge to provide analyses that inform business decisions.

Here’s what you can expect as an Finance and Operations Manager:

  • Business Expertise: You will leverage your financial expertise by supporting all business partners to produce inputs for their annual budget and re-forecasts. You will effectively monitor key performance indicators- highlighting trends, analyze results and causes of variance to senior leadership. You will effectively translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Invoicing and Collections Ownership: Cash is king at emerging technology startups and you will be responsible for executing on accurate and timely B2B enterprise invoicing and collections as well as coordinating with our revenue team to ensure good quoting and contracting practices
  • Executive Reporting: You will be developing and maintaining financial models, reports, and analysis to support key business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Process Management: You will improve and scale by developing repeatable processes, including standardizing, automating reports and improving how we leverage internal systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Three-five years of work experience with at least 1 year or more of hands-on, focused finance or operational experience working in a small team
  • Attention to detail is a must. In this role, you need to be a “safe pair of hands” - you are able to meticulously keep reporting up to date and are proactive about escalating and following up on outstanding issues
  • Creative problem solving. You are able to not only triage requests efficiently but also come up with recommended solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with different internal and external teams clearly and professionally.
  • Prioritization and resilience. You understand when and how to manage to a tight timeline while maintaining standards of excellence.
  • Experience with Chargebee, Hubspot, Quickbooks, enterprise customers, and in an emerging technology start-up are pluses, but not required
