The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for acting as the first level of communication for employee inquiries. The Generalist is responsible for providing human resources support to employees within the organization through onboarding/offboarding, engagement, employee relations, and onsite hands-on direct administration in human resource functions.

Essential Responsibilities - NEO, DIB, General

  • Biweekly New Employee Orientation:
  • Conducts HR portion of NEO
  • Performs initial I9-verication, of eligible documents
  • Distributes applicable paperwork internally
  • Assists with continued support of training efforts
  • Maintains continuous communication with new employees and buddies; modifies processes as necessary to ensure positive new employee onboarding experience
  • Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB):
  • Provides support to Affinity Group Leaders
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Affinity Group Leader questions and DIB topics
  • Assist with the planning and organization of employee network activities
  • Facilitates monthly Affinity Group meetings by scheduling meetings, creating agenda, and
  • meeting minutes
  • Maintains yearly event calendar and intranet page
  • General HR responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monitoring HR mailbox and responding to team member concerns in a timely
  • manner
  • Interprets personnel policies and procedures, and employment laws that guide HR best practice
  • Conducts exit survey meetings with employees that are departing the company
  • Maintain employee records
  • Responsible for the administration of all unemployment claims
  • Assists with the communication of procedures; maintains BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
  • Assists Manager, Human Resources, with employee relations issues
  • Identifies issues; uses independent judgment to resolve problems through
  • interpretation of policies.
  • Provides high quality, HR support to employees for employee relations issues and
  • questions. Understands the needs of internal team members and provides effective,
  • timely response
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build
  • morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Supports HR leaders with departmental and company initiatives, as requested
  • Assists with data entry activities, payroll communication, and tracking of priority data
  • Assists with compliance related details

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study
  • Not less than two (2) years' experience in progressive HR roles.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to take direction well, detail oriented, highly organized, works well in team environment
  • Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment
  • In depth understanding of all aspects of US employment and human resources related laws, regulations, policies, concepts, and practices, including Workers Comp, ADA, ADEA and FMLA

Preferred Credentials

  • Designation as aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Supervision Received

  • Infrequent supervision and instructions
  • Frequently exercises discretionary authority

Working Environment

  • Primarily Office
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated
  • movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office equipment
  • Frequent mobility needed
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including office supplies
  • and laptop computer, with a maximum lift of 20 pounds
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, with the ability to listen
  • to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups
  • Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals
  • Requires multiple periods of intense concentration
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence
  • Ability to perform under stress and multi-task
  • Regular and consistent attendance

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
  • Occasional weekend, holiday, and evening work required
