Position Summary

The Foreman is responsible for overseeing employees, crews and/or contract personnel for I&E activities. This position is responsible for initiating and actively communicating with team members on all key/major decisions and ensuring that all I&E activities are executed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with, all applicable Company and industry standards and guidelines. This position works in close collaboration with engineering, construction, production, maintenance, fluid movement, and EHS staff. A successful candidate must be team oriented, self-motivated and demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding safety, operational, and environmental policies.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

In addition to the technical roles and responsibilities of a foreman of the specific discipline, the foreman is also responsible for the following:

  • Provide visible safety leadership and work closely with the EHS team.
  • Supervise daily I&E activity. This includes, but not limited to, ordering materials and managing schedules, as well as documenting and reporting spend.
  • Develops good relationships with and effectively manages contractors and suppliers
  • Review and approve contractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
  • Screen and select properly trained and qualified contractors to work on SM properties.
  • Supervise the installation of well site I&E equipment, programming, etc.
  • Supervise troubleshooting and work orders on existing facilities, well sites, towers, etc.
  • Review and execute various tickets, work orders, records and other administrative reports to manage trends and to support recommendations.
  • Remains current in the application of the latest proven technologies and methods used for their specific operation discipline in the production of oil and gas assets
  • Responsible for maintaining necessary inventory.
  • Work closely with engineers to source standard equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner from approved vendors.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, providing updates and input on new construction activities, new and existing projects, and field related problems.
  • Ensure invoice management and cost tracking meet company standards and timely processing.
  • Remain current in the application of the latest proven technologies and methods.
  • Regular field trips are required and can work extended hours when required.
  • Provide relief for the other foreman as needed
  • Conducts business with the highest ethical standards.

Computer/Software Applications

Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Experience with industry/company software including, but not limited to, Wellview, eMaint and

SCADA.

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of facilities, equipment, end devices, and SCADA systems in oil and gas environments.
  • Good written and verbal skills required. Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office, eMaint, RTU programming with emphasis on RS485 Modbus configurations
  • Intermediate skillset in using and troubleshooting various radio methodologies.
  • Instrumentation using various protocols such as TCP/IP, Hart, and/or 4-20mA input/output.
  • Electrical – 110VAC and lower, 24-48 VDC, Amperage requirements and Power supply sizing. Understanding of Relay contact controls and wiring diagrams. Ability to troubleshoot wiring schematics for low voltage control panel backplates and power supplies.
  • Supported equipment: Tank Level Monitoring Devices (Guided Wave Radar and Dual Float Probes), Pressure Transmitters, O2 and H2S Analyzers, PLC Back Plates and Power supplies to include relays and fuse replacement, 900 MHz and 2.4-5.0 GHz frequency radios and Various Cell Modems.
  • Software Applications – Ability to download and navigate supporting device software and apply software tools to setup, troubleshoot and configure a variety of electronic and measurement device types.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Typical Education

High School Degree or equivalent Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus A valid driver’s license is

required.

Typical Experience

Minimum 8 years of oil and gas experience.
