Our Greenhouse facility in Berea, Kentucky is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our Greenhouse Maintenance Team! The essential function of this role is responsible for managing the maintenance team including work schedules and continuous performance feedback, ensuring efficiency of operations and complete coverage as well as oversee the operations and maintenance of the Greenhouse.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance team including work schedules and continuous performance feedback, ensuring efficiency of operations and complete coverage as well as oversee the operations and maintenance of the Greenhouse
  • Direct the review and repair of all Mechanical systems with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all plant mechanical equipment including, boilers, air compressors, pumps, gear drives, fans, conveyor and pack line equipment as required.
  • Managing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with the ability to operate all sectors of the system, reviewing tasks, needed work and assignment of responsibilities to the team and ensure all equipment preventive maintenance and inspections are scheduled and up to date as required
  • Act as the subject matter expert to direct the maintenance to repair of greenhouse growing systems, heating, irrigation, structural horticultural support systems and preventative maintenance for all buildings, grounds.
  • Sourcing and placing orders for parts to maintain various greenhouse systems. Manage inventory of all essential and nonessential parts inventories.
  • Develops, refines and administers maintenance qualification and training programs, plant maintenance procedures, and develops SOPs.
  • Develops, refines, and administers plant maintenance procedures.
  • Reviews job orders to determine work
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance
  • Environmental compliance, site inspections, septic inspections and universal waste inspections. Schedule testing and pickup of IPM rinse tank.
  • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required
  • Directs workers and contractors engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance activities, such as snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in appropriate field or trade school, engineering background preferred
  • Minimum of five years of plant maintenance and supervisory experience


Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of facility maintenance, and a high understanding of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, and LNG knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written with the ability to foster positive relationships
  • Proficient with MS Office Products
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with competing demands while considering the full business impact
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills


Working Conditions:

  • Greenhouse Environment where the temperature averages 70 F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
  • Occasional lifting and physical lifting may be required.
  • Must be able to work around bees.
  • Visual and auditory sensory are needed regular
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time in varying temperatures on concrete surfaces.
  • Ability to work during off hours to address emergency conditions or situations that may arise
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
