The Technology Partner Management team’s mission is to drive lifetime value in relationships with third party technology suppliers and vendor partners. We work with suppliers to ensure successful and cost-effective delivery of products and services key to the delivery of Nordstrom Technology products and capabilities. Success is measured in terms of Negotiation Value, value driven in the overall Vendor Partner Relationship, and benefit delivery. This leader understands and partners within and outside of Technology to strike the appropriate balance between cost and capability. To our Technology partners, this leader is the face and voice of Nordstrom and sets the tone for our relationships. Within Technology, this leader is a trusted advisor for all supplier-related concerns to Technology senior leaders and Chief Technology Information Officer.
Nordstrom Technology is looking for an experienced technology leader to lead a team of vendor program managers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on project and program management skills, leading large cross-functional projects from definition to launch.
A day in the life…
Leadership and management of a team of Partner Managers.
Develops roadmap strategy, vision, business benefits, and prioritization of goals for Partner Management in support of a $300M+ annual non-labor portfolio.
Ensures alignment on priorities and direction by partnering with other groups, stakeholders, and leaders
Partners with engineering, Product Management, Finance, Legal, Risk, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, and business stakeholders to meet strategic and financial objectives
End to end ownership of cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning and project execution.
Leading the definition and execution of strategic projects aimed at reducing the total cost and time to market for launch.
Manages escalations with suppliers, and supplier turn-around plans
Owns direct communication with executive team.
Driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, budget tracking, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.
Technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through consensus and sound judgment.
Facilitate the processes, and measurements, to ensure streamlined interactions between the Technology organization and supporting corporate functions such as Strategic Sourcing, Asset Management, Contract Administration, Contractor on-boarding, etc.
Build the relationships and relentlessly manage the performance of preferred and strategic vendor partners and suppliers, ensuring Nordstrom-quality expectations and contractual commitments are achieved
Partner closely with cross functional teams including Asset Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Finance, HR, and Audit to deliver on shared objectives
You own this if you have…
8+ years of combined experience in technology and technology vendor management including technology contract compliance and budget accountability with emphasis on Software as a Service, cloud technology (AWS, Google), and eCommerce
3+ years of technology management experience within a technology or ecommerce organization required
Experience managing strategic vendor and stakeholder relationships
Ability to define, measure and analyze team performance and processes to identify improvement opportunities
Expert knowledge of core infrastructure and software development principals
Proven track record of leading large cross-functional projects.
Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
Demonstrated ability to tell stories with data to inform and influence decision making
Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
Ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts to audiences at all levels within the organization
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or closely related field desired
Master’s degree in related field strongly preferred

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $141,000 - $258,000 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
