Looking for a current or former Math/Science teacher who is deeply interested and/or potentially knowledgeable on virtual reality education. Our direct client is looking for a current or former math/science educator who would like to get into a career with a growing company who builds virtual reality classrooms and wants to speak with decision makers at schools to discuss the value in learning through Virtual Reality based classrooms to enhance participation and peak students interests with Virtual Reality hardware/software.

Job Title: Assistant Director of Implementation, Alabama (Grant-Funded Project)

Location: Alabama, USA (Extensive travel required across the state - MUST BE LOCATED IN ALABAMA)

They have a grant project aimed at bringing virtual reality to schools across Alabama at no cost. Our mission is to empower educators and to inspire students by providing access to cutting-edge VR technology.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Assistant Director of Implementation for our grant-funded project in Alabama. In this role, you will travel around the state, working closely with teachers, students, and other educational stakeholders to implement virtual reality in classrooms. In the fall and spring, travel will take about 75% of your time, as you will be in schools 3 or 4 days per week. In the summer, travel will be about 25% for conferences and other in-person meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School Outreach: Travel across Alabama to engage with teachers, administrators, and students, increasing awareness about the use of virtual reality in classrooms.
  • Training and Support: Provide hands-on training and support to educators on how to use VR hardware and software effectively for educational purposes.
  • Needs Assessment: Gather feedback from teachers and students to identify their needs and preferences, serving as our liaison to build new features and content.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with the state department of education, researchers, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and promote the adoption of VR technology in education.
  • Project Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on project activities, outcomes, and challenges encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preference given to candidates with experience in geometry, math, or any education-related field.
  • Must have taught middle school or high school math in Alabama
  • Strong desire to improve educational technology (no VR experience required).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a willingness to travel extensively.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact in schools.
