We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.The Mechanical Engineer initiates engineering design, development and problem solving of equipment, manufacturing, and supporting processes.
Location: This is an on-site position at our headquarters in Chesterfield, MO.
Responsibilities
Develop creative and practical designs that meet expectations
Initiate application of engineering principles and process understanding
Lead and coordinate the integration/validation of assigned components/assemblies
Initiate, define and develop new design concepts
Direct the modeling of components/assemblies for machine segments or modules, meeting specifications
Specify, select, and integrate vendor components
Initiate and produce designs that are manufacturable, demonstrate and appreciation for operations and maintenance, and meet safety standards
Initiate, present and participate in review of designs
Complete assigned work within established schedule
Initiate and coordinate completion of design documentation with minimal errors including part and assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Specification sheets, Modification kits, and project files
Understand roles of other functions and provide project support as appropriate
Initiate and participate in team processes and contribute to team objectives
Communicate fully with supervisor, project lead, and others that have a need to know in a timely, effective manner
Abide by corporate policies and quality system procedures
Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner and contribute to safety and wellbeing of self and others
Estimate engineering project resources, dollars and man-hours
Assume responsibility for designs typically valued at up to $500,000
Train less experience personnel on established methods and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge
Qualifications And Skills Required
5+years of demonstrated experience and competency in design and use of engineering tools
Exhibits willingness and ability to increase knowledge through continuous education
Familiar with:
Engineering codes and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, and EC standards
Current industry/trade knowledge and commercial equipment availability
Engineering economics
Materials and fabrications
Education Required
4 -Year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
