CUMULUS | Birmingham, AL. is seeking a talented individual as Evening On Air/ Promotions Coordinator for their URBAN AC - Birmingham's Best Mix of R&B HOT 107.7 WUHT-FM station. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, thinks ahead, understands they are part of a team, and has the ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Knowledgeable in Urban AC / Classic Hip Hop music is helpful, but not required. This is a dual role that allows you to have a huge impact on our listeners!

CUMULUS | Birmingham, AL currently features 6 stations in the Birmingham metro area: WZRR-FM Talk 99.5, WUHT-FM Hot 107.7, WJOX-FM Jox 94.5, WJOX-AM Jox 690, WJQX-FM Jox 100.5, WAPI-AM 1070. As an On-Air Personality, you must be able to host or co-host shows that generate ratings by being entertaining, informative, community oriented and forwarding the brand. The candidate must have a deep understanding of how to go beyond the latest news, headlines, and events to craft an entertaining and unique product. As an On-Air Personality , the candidate should be able to plan and produce a quality show, through creative ideas, segments, celebrity interviews and production elements. As an ambassador for Cumulus, participation in station and client events/remotes, connecting with the community and our listeners, building a relationship with clients through the sales team and networking within the market are paramount. Candidates must have unparalleled passion, worth ethic and drive.
Key Responsibilities
Engage the listeners on-air and on social media
Accept phone calls, execute contests
Effectively introduce programs and music
Read commercial copy, liners and public service announcements
Operate control console
Conduct occasional on-air interviews
Attend weekly air-check sessions with program director
Create content for station websites and social media accounts
Assists in special promotions and programming activities
Amenable to coaching sessions and station meetings
Other projects & initiatives as assigned by program director
Assist in planning, organizing & execution of promotional events and digital campaigns
Execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the fly
Represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing and friendly manner
Data Entry of Promotional events and contesting
Create e-blasts, social media posts & website posts; review promotional information and graphics
Inventory and maintenance of prize closet, calendars, events for current and upcoming promotions
Assisting the Promotions and Marketing Department with projects as needed in the office
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Minimum 1-3 years commercial radio experience preferred – Urban AC preferred
Proficient with studio software including VoxPro, Adobe Audition, Audacity and on-air automation systems (OpX preferred)
Strong abilities at both audio & video editing and production
Experience with posting audio, video, text, blogs, and graphics to website platform
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and all social media platforms and understand of social media strategy implementation
Knowledge of urban entertainment culture
Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
Tolerance for stress and tight timelines, including ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be comfortable working with high profile talent, and approaching Program Director with ideas
