Patent Agent

Legal.io is working with a leading defense/aerospace manufacturing company seeking to engage an experience patent agent full-time (40 hours per week) on a contract basis, for an initial 6 month term.

Work to be done:

• Manage the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in collaboration with internal IP Counsel and outside counsel.
• Will interface with outside counsel on prosecution of patents and interact with inventors to obtain feedback on outside counsel responses
• Will work on patents in the following arenas: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Software, Metallurgical/Materials
• Must be comfortable working with a fair amount of autonomy while understanding RTX's business objectives.
• Role will start at 6 months, with the opportunity to extend beyond that

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience, with fairly broad range of technical experience with chemical, mechanical, and electrical patents.
• Must be a registered patent agent and a US citizen
• Must have prior patent prosecution experience and preferably experience working with and managing outside counsel

Role Details:

Technology: Anaqua (prior experience with technology not required)

Hours: 40 Hours / Week

Duration: 6 Months (From 7/20/2024 until 1/23/2025)

Pay Rate: $50 - $75 / hr
