Department: MarketingLocation: Baker Publishing Group, Ada, MIPosition Type: Regular Full Time, ExemptPRIMARY PURPOSE: Plan and execute Baker Publishing Group nonfiction publicity campaigns - 40-50 per year (and other duties as assigned).Primary Duties:
Create press material and develop a publicity campaign for each assigned book.
Direct and facilitate all proactive and reactive media relations, including facilitating interviews, articles, and press coverage for new titles.
Actively build relationships with national, local, and regional media
Build relationships with authors, agents, and other BPG team members
Participate in nonfiction marketing and other team meetings
Provide media training
Participate in author meetings via zoom or in person
Travel as needed to accompany authors to national interviews and conferences

Qualifications:
Two years of publicity experience or degree in public relations, journalism or marketing.
Working knowledge of Christian media
Working knowledge of Christian publishing
Track record of successful pitches and angles for media
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in time-sensitive, high-pressure environment
Candidate should have an interest in and commitment to Christian book publishing.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of national and Christian media landscape
Experience working with media platforms such as Cision, Muckrack, Podchaser
