This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position
Key duties include schedule input; submittals; preparing field work packages; compiling as-built data; verifying installation quantities; field safety and quality inspections
Perform procurement quantity takeoffs
Daily reports in construction management software
Compile necessary information for all submittals and coordinate with Document Control to ensure proper documentation
Assist Superintendent with coordination of material deliveries
Perform field verifications, inspections and measurements
Work closely with document control and field personnel to ensure they have latest drawings and installation documents
Provide schedule update information to project scheduler
Ensure that work is correctly cost coded and all extra work is coded to separate cost codes as assigned by the Project Engineer or other
Update drawings with redlines of as-built information
Attend necessary briefings and safety meetings as required
Attain necessary job specific training and maintain annual requirements
Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Construction Engineering; 2-5 years Railroad Construction experience preferred
Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a construction related position preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
AutoCAD skills a plus. Will provide training as needed
Construction management course work or internship experience a plus
Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with a team
Must have strong organization skills
Must be highly motivated
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review
Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen
Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
