Senior Accountant

Out client is a premier firm specializing in power consulting, engineering, and technical services, collaborating with utility, commercial, industrial, and government clients to address complex power infrastructure challenges. The company is instrumental in modernizing electric power systems, advancing economic decarbonization, and supporting the broader energy transition. Emphasizing quality and technical excellence, our team of highly skilled professionals delivers comprehensive services to clients nationwide.

They are looking to hire a talented senior accountant, with 3+ years' experience in general ledger accounting and willingness to learn project accounting. Additionally, the company undergoes significant acquisitions and integration projects throughout the year so this hire will have exposure to due diligence process, acquisitions and integrations.

Salary: $70,000 – $100,000

Responsibilities

• Oversee completeness and accuracy of all journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
• Serve as project lead, as necessary, and ensure proper preparation and documentation of related journal entries.
• In connection with month closing, ensure accuracy of foreign currency adjustments, elimination entries, and expense allocations as appropriate.
• Develop new procedures to shorten the current close process.
• Actively contribute to the development of global accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Actively participate in year-end audits and quarterly reviews, including preparation of audit support schedules and related requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
