The Senior Divisional Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting aspects for our fresh pork division. This role involves providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and collaborating with senior management to drive financial performance and decision-making. This is a new position; we are growing and looking to add top talent to a growing division.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
Present financial results to senior management and provide explanations for variances and trends.
Audit the work of the accounting department and ensure proper procedures and compliance.
Strategic Planning And Decision Support
Partner with divisional leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
Provide financial insights and analysis to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and business development opportunities.
Participate in cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Team Leadership And Development
Manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the finance department.
Identify training and development needs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited university.
MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Proven 5+ years of experience in an accounting leadership position within protein manufacturing, consumer product goods (CPG), or food & beverage industries.
Big 4 audit experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience leading and developing teams.
Work is primarily performed in an office and plant environment requiring the ability to sit, talk, hear, frequent walking, standing, and sitting; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Ability to use standard office equipment such as telephone, computer, and copier.
