Working within HID’s PACS group you will lead the software/firmware teams in the development of access control logic devices.

You will interact with engineering teams, product/program management teams, and stakeholders to design, develop, and release production software/firmware.

As our Senior Firmware Engineering Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by:

• Managing and leading the software/firmware engineering team
• Reviewing product specifications and designs
• Leading and being involved in design and code reviews
• Promoting secure software development lifecycle (SSDL)
• Participating and contributing in planning events, workshops, and system demonstrations
• Driving and supporting continuous improvement and other agile practices
• Interfacing with partners/customers to understand their needs and requirements
• Interfacing with manufacturers on issues relating to manufacturing, testing, and production
• Working closely with other engineering and quality teams

What we will love about your background with any of the following:

• Experience managing remote individuals that may be located in different time zones and/or countries
• Embedded development experience, with a focus on ARM Linux operating systems
• Experience developing and deploying applications under Linux and Windows
• Experience with Agile methodologies. Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) desired
• Knowledge of digital certificates

Your Experience and Education include:

• Must possess a degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a minimum of 3+ years engineering experience, preferably engineering in electronics industry with experience managing a team.
• Programming experience in C/C++, C#
• Web development (HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful, JSON, XML, MQTT)
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, transport layer protocols including TCP and UDP, and application layer protocols including HTTPS
• Experience with Jira highly desired
• Experience with secure coding practices as well as cyber security

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

The base salary range for CA/Bay area is $166,000 to $207,347. This opportunity may be open to flexible working arrangements.
