Job Description
Duties:
Design and build highly scalable applications to support Digital Subscriptions mission of acquiring and retaining digital subscribers. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Perform story grooming, plan work backlog, work estimation, sprint planning, retros, and demos. Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Work with a wide variety of engineering teams, design, product, marketing, and newsroom stakeholders in the support and building of internal and public facing tools and applications. Serve in an on-call capacity.
Remote work in any U.S. state except Hawaii is permissible.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires two years of experience in each of the following:
Client-side scripting and Javascript frameworks such as React and Angular; front-end architecture, including performance optimization; Designing and implementing highly scalable applications; Using DevOps technologies like Docker, Jenkins, or AWS Products; Coding standards, including HTML5, CSS / CSS3, Javascript, and Git.
All experience may be concurrent.

123,200.00 - 205,400.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
