Overview:

USIM is a full-service, integrated, media planning and buying agency. We are media agnostic – aligning the most successful and efficient media strategies with the goals of our clients, regardless of channel. As a Sr. Human Resource Generalist, you will be accountable for supporting or supervising various HR programs, systems, initiatives and drive a service delivery model of excellence. The role is critical in the execution of HR payrolls and benefits administration / maintenance.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes payroll on a semimonthly basis. Detail orientated to capture errors or issues to immediately resolve. Works closely with the Accounting Department on payroll issues, reports, etc.
  • Works with state tax agencies on tax compliance and issues.
  • Works with external agencies to remain in compliance with audits, surveys, etc.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Manages benefits enrollment, qualifying events, terminations, as well as employee issues with carriers.
  • Works closely with benefit carriers and third-party administrator for Cobra.
  • Manages Wellness Program planning events and activities throughout the year, as well as managing the wellness budget. Conducts periodic surveys for employee feedback.
  • Manages Employee Onboarding, remaining in compliance with new hire documents and paperwork. Presents New Hire Orientation communicating company policies and procedures, employee benefits, etc.
  • Manages Leave of Absence Administration, including tracking leaves and maintaining updated knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, etc.
  • Manages Employee Offboarding. Conducts Exit Interview and works closely with the IT Department to coordinate return of company equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Experience with MS Suite
  • Knowledge of HR Information Systems (Paycor Modules preferred).
  • Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multi-project based function.
  • Command of written and verbal communication with an ability to socialize with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience resolving complex payroll/benefits issues.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in HRIS systems knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll, benefits administration, compensation practice, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
