Position Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the James Denman Director of Youth & Family Programs, the Strengthening Families Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) at James Denman Middle School and Charles Drew Elementary. The SFP Specialist will facilitate with a minimum of 12 Families for a 14-week cycle in 2-3 times a year. The SFP Specialist will be responsible for attending all DPH Team meetings. The SFP Specialist works as a team member with the other Beacon staff to ensure a holistic approach to the family and student needs. Much time and energy are spent in coordinating the logistics of the program. The SFP Specialist will also be well versed and accountable to ECCO database and SUD hours as well as keeping track of attendance and other data requirements. The SFP specialist is responsible for managing and facilitating the SFP program funded by the SF Department of Public Health. They must also follow the curriculum provided, manage incentives, follow up with families and outreach for this program.

This position is concerned with the delivery of services in the James Denman community. To this end the SFP Specialist must have the interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and families identified: Facilitation Skills, Case Management skills, oral communication skills with families and youth, and the ability to clearly document outcome and data per program protocols that are all necessary. The SFP Specialist adheres to all confidentiality procedures.

Salary Range: $23-$25/hour

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Available Monday-Friday, some weekends
  • Case management experience
  • Must have experience working with youth (Elementary or Middle School)
  • TB Test clearance
  • Fingerprint background check clearance
