Vale Group has partnered with a leader in the Warehouse Automation space. We are actively seeking the next VP of Automation Solutions to work onsite in North Indianapolis, IN for a full-time opportunity paying competitively based on experience. This executive position drives success through accountability and advocacy to reach individual sales deliverables within the Sales Team.

Requirements of the VP of Automation Solutions:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a comparable role or at least 5 years of direct industry experience in conveyors, goods to person (GTP, G2P), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), and Automated Mobile Robots (AMRs).
  • Relevant educational background.
  • Certifications in relevant fields (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in intralogistics, material handling industry, automated warehouse technology, control technology, and IT for material flow systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Initiative and independence.
  • Willingness to travel.


Responsibilities of the VP of Automation Solutions:

  • Drive sales automation in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Analyze project tasks and develop corresponding solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the solution engineering team to provide the best solutions.
  • Work with the sales force to establish a clear sales strategy.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Develop logistics concepts and sell automated logistics systems.
  • Analyze current situations and determine essential logistical data with end users or internal departments.
  • Design logistics solutions with a focus on automated systems.
  • Prepare calculations and coordinate the overall project.
  • Create sales and functional descriptions and commercial content for quotes and presentations.
  • Present solutions to customers.
  • Participate in the contract process and conduct final negotiations with customers.
  • Manage handover to the implementation department and support the implementation phase.
  • Participate in trade fairs and events.
  • Support continuous improvement of sales processes and tools.


Overall Responsibilities

Accountability

  • Track and report sales pipeline health within the Sales Team.
  • Manage and adjust individual KPIs to reach desired results.
  • Facilitate individual and group sales meetings.
  • Oversee opportunity strategy to increase order intake probability.
  • Collaborate with Senior and Executive Sales Management.
  • Assist in staffing and performance evaluations.


Advocacy

  • Coordinate with marketing on lead generation.
  • Coach using the Sandler Selling principles to increase prospecting results.
  • Develop the sales team through motivation, mentoring, and product knowledge education.
  • Participate in pre-calls and de-briefs within the sales team.
  • Assist in customer sales calls.
