- In this module, you'll learn the best kept secrets of most magnetic speakers. This is actually wisdom learned from decades of experience from stage time from my career as a keynote speaker and my learning from observing the best in business, so pay close attention. First, never speak until the room is silent and never use your words to call the room back. Seasoned speakers use the power of the silent presence on the stage to command attention instead of pleading the audience to pay attention to them. Second, never apologize for the time you do not have. Own the time you do have. Most speakers will be in distress if their time of presentation is cut into half or so at the 11th hour and will begin their talk with profuse apologies to their audience. The audience has no clue about these backstage occurrences and does not need to know about it either. Smartly prune your presentation content to the new timelines, but never make it known publicly.
