- Managing up can be tricky. And hopefully you are more confident about it now than you've ever been before. But what if you work remotely from your leader? How can you manage up when you seldom or never see them? I'm glad you asked. We call this ethical visibility, being seen and therefore being able to influence without being seen as self-serving or someone who is inauthentically trying to be seen. Along with all the ideas you already have and are ready to implement, consider these specifically if you work remotely, some or all of the time. Make sure you participate in meetings. Now, if you're more introverted, that means you need to speak up and actually say something, even if you're just simply saying that you agree with what's been said.
