Strategic planning decisions

Strategic planning decisions

"

Decisions. Operation strategy involves lots of them. Resources are finite, and you can't do everything. Be everywhere, nor be the best at every aspect of operational performance. Choices must be made. Strategic operational decisions are the long-term big picture decisions. By their nature, they can only be made infrequently or slight refinements made once something is committed to. Their implications reach far out into the future, committing the business to a certain direction in a way that could be altered only by incurring considerable expense. We can split the big strategic decisions into two major categories, structural and infrastructural. Structural decisions typically deal with the more tangible aspects and are typically the bigger, more fundamental decisions upon which infrastructural decisions around people, planning, and control, organizational structure, et cetera can be based upon.
