Introduction to designing video streaming service in the cloud

"

- Hello, fellow couch potatoes. How often do you use video streaming services? I know I use them a lot, aren't they the perfect way to spend your entire weekend without moving a muscle? Have you ever stopped to think about what goes on behind the scenes? How are they built? What infrastructure is necessary? The tech can be overwhelming. I have designed this course in steps and building blocks with flow charts and diagrams that you can download, so you can follow along and take notes. And at the end of it, test your new knowledge with the challenge. If you haven't played with the cloud before, keep Google Cloud cheat sheet open. It's a tool I created, I know it's pretty awesome. It will help you understand how all these things fit together. Some of these services like YouTube even let us become content creators so we can upload our own silly cat videos and share them with the world. Who knows you or your cat might even go viral. But let's not forget about the other nifty features these services offer, like personalized recommendations based on your viewing habits. Because let's be honest, nobody knows your taste in cheesy romcoms better than these algorithms. There's a whole lot of tech and infrastructure working together to make our lazy dreams come true and that my friends, is what I can't wait to show you. So grab some popcorn, get comfy in that couch, and let's start our Google Cloud journey by exploring the magic, I mean the architecture of video streaming services.
