Simply put, headings or header tags are HTML tags that tell a browser what styling it should use to display a particular piece of text on the page. Just like headings on a printed article, header tags signal the title or introduce the content that is below it. They're important for SEO because it helps the search engine understand what your blog post is all about and also makes it easy for your reader to understand the context of your blog post.
