- [Instructor] When working on a blog post on WordPress, don't forget that images get indexed by Google as well. This means that your images need to be optimized for search engines, just like the headings and the text in your blog post. Now, there are two key things that you can do to optimize your images for SEO. Number one is to make sure that you do not use super large images, as they tend to slow down your website, which negatively impacts your search rankings. Number two, make sure to add alt text to all of your images to add purpose and relevance to your images. Now, alt text in WordPress is simply a small description you can add to images in blog posts to assist blind and visually impaired people who are using a screen reader.
