- [Instructor] Your URL or link for the blog post can play a huge role in search results. The goal of optimizing your blog post URL is twofold. Number one, you want to ensure that you're using the main keyword that you aim to rank for. Number two, you want to provide clarity for search engines as to what your blog post is all about. Now, the biggest mistake to avoid when you are optimizing your URL is as follows. Make sure not to use numbers, dates, or special characters, such as hyphens or underscore, that only take up space and add absolutely no value to the reader or the search engine.
