Case Study: A Website Redesign as Stunning as This True Creative Soul

Branding is not a once-and-done event — It’s a process growing businesses return to continually. Rebranding, especially in an era of change like the one we’re in now, is key to a business’s continued success.

Remember: a brand is the entirety of what people experience when they encounter your company. Your brand is everything – your company’s name, logo, website, social media, font type and colors, mission, vision, values, employees and even what your customer says to a friend.

Rebranding is one of our specialties here at JonesHaus, and it’s also one of our favorite things to do for growing businesses! Why? Because we love to see how rebranding can breathe new life into a company by reminding the world of who you are and what you offer, aesthetically attracting the right customers and inspiring the team internally to reach new heights.

We recently redesigned a website that turned out simply stunning: amandajewel.com.

Amanda Jewel offers floral design with incredible artistry and provides outstanding experiences for their customers. Now, their website finally does their work justice.

AMANDA JEWEL FLORAL + DESIGN IS AN INSPIRED DESIGN STUDIO IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA THAT CREATES ART WITH FLORALS AND DESIGNS BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCES, PARTICULARLY WEDDINGS AND CORPORATE EVENTS.

Founder Amanda Jewel Lankford grew up on a farm. As a true creative soul, design has been Amanda’s purpose for as long as she can remember. She developed a deep appreciation for art, beauty, and the outdoors at an early age and channels those elements into each of her custom floral and event designs.

Amanda draws inspiration from the wild, asymmetrical patterns in nature and many say this is the secret ingredient to her dynamic and unique custom designs. She’s known for creating one-of-a-kind visions that become epic and unforgettable events.

We wanted to capture that deep appreciation in every word and with every image on her website.

“At Amanda Jewel Floral + Design, we pride ourselves on hard work and the ability to make even our craziest ideas come to life.”

They do just that — and now, their website conveys it, through vibrant and artistic photography paired with concise, compelling descriptions of how their cultivated arrangements achieved the look and feel their customers’ craved.

AMANDA JEWEL HAD AN EXISTING WEBSITE DESIGNED IN SQUARESPACE. SHE WAS LOOKING TO REBRAND THE COMPANY TO LOOK AND FEEL MORE UPSCALE AND “SCREAM LUXURY.”

We collaborated with strategist and writer Jill MacRae to redesign Amanda Jewel Floral + Design’s website, who described the process perfectly:

“Months of planning, writing, and designing led up to this beautiful showcase of stunning artistry and breathtaking photography, while holding each other accountable to meet budgets and hit timelines.”

Carefully weaving together the artistic and logistic aspects of a website redesign is crucial to a successful rebrand.

Their previous home page had a single image on it with one quote: “You inspire us to create your dream event.” It lacked keywords and secondary navigation to guide the user further into the website. The navigation was sparse with vague keywords such as "Galleries” and “Journal.”

Now, it’s safe to say Amanda Jewel Floral + Design’s website screams luxury, showcases the company’s incredible talent, and compels the user to explore the site and fall in love with the exquisite work captured on every page.

A Glimpse Inside the Process

We designed and developed the new site in Squarespace, a great option for small businesses.

The process began with a Marketing Planning Questionnaire, which led the strategy for site navigation and copywriting. We built a Sitemap with navigational keywords, along with an on-page search engine optimization (SEO) strategy to drive traffic to the site.

Next, we created landing pages to better organize the content, and we broke up the existing “Galleries” page into three categories: Weddings, Corporate Events, and Floral Design + Art. This creates an enhanced user experience, leading website visitors to the offerings they’re most interested in and appealing to their specific likes and needs. Plus, the categories, with the on-page descriptions we added, helps with SEO.

Each page for Weddings, Corporate Events, and Floral Design + Art was designed and organized like a "mood board" to better showcase the beautiful events and photography. This mood board feel adds to the overall aesthetic of Amanda Jewel Floral + Design’s brand: artful, sophisticated, playful and beautiful.

We renamed their blog “The Forage” as a nod to Amanda’s signature foraging style, and added client testimonials to the site as social proof of the company’s reputation.

An Instagram feed was connected to the website and featured on the homepage, and calls-to-action were added to every page to drive engagement. Finally, we added footer navigation to enhance user experience.

Amanda Jewel Floral + Design curates exceptional experiences for their customers through their love and skillfulness of floral design. Now, their website embodies that, and entices visitors to experience it, too.
