Charles Lee selected to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada
I am over-the-moon to be chosen to be a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada (RSC). The Royal Society of Canada is the senior national body of distinguished Canadian scientists and scholars and the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence in Canada. It was incorporated by an act of the Parliament of Canada in 1883. This year, I will be one of 51 new Fellows elected to the Academy of Sciences of this elite 141-year-old Canadian scientific organization. The science that we achieved over the years in my laboratory was only possible because of the many contributions of my past and current colleagues as well as the long-term support for fundamental research from the University of Alberta, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), University of Cambridge, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, The Jackson Laboratory, National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). A special thank you for my academic mentors: Dr. Chyi Chyang (C.C.) Lin (University of Alberta), Professor Malcolm Ferguson-Smith (University of Cambridge) and Cynthia Morton (Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School); as well as to those who kindly nominated and supported me for this honor. The induction ceremony will be held in on November 8, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. Photos and videos to follow after the ceremony!
