Indian Family Office Benchmarking Survey

I am pleased to introduce- “ The International Family Offices Journal” that is being launched by Global Law & Business- a prominent publishing company, head-quartered in UK. The first  edition is expected to hit the stands in October 2016.

As a Member of the Editorial Board of this Global Magazine, I am currently working on a Report on Indian Family Offices which will be published in the inaugural edition.

Our regular interactions with prominent Indian business families through AIWMI events and educational initiatives till date have provided us with unique insight into how successful families manage their wealth, often working with a combination of in-house professionals and third party vendors to create SMART “family offices”. However we believe this information is only the proverbial tip of the ice-berg. India is diverse and so are the families who are driving its business engine.

Family Office segment in India is relatively new and still lacks clarity. The lack of any cohesive force among prominent Indian family offices is not only affecting the advisory standards but also the overall growth of this segment. AIWMI plans to plug this gap through a series of structured initiatives offering a  peer-network for Family Office Clients  and educational programs for Family Office Professionals.

The Indian Family Office Benchmarking Survey

AIWMI will be shortly launching the first “ Indian Family Office Benchmarking Survey” in partnership with one of the World’s biggest Family Office membership organization.

The survey will include  sections on :

  1. Family background
  2. Cost
  3. Financial performance measurements
  4. Governance
  5. Documentation
  6. Processes
  7. Communication
  8. Human resources issues
  9. Education and succession planning
  10. Technologie

This  Survey is a research project designed to develop a better understanding of the Indian Family Offices including the performance drivers of Single and Multi-Family Offices in India. This survey will be conducted in May- June 2016.

This survey builds upon the work done by AIWMI so far in response  to the request of families to help benchmark performance expectations across other family offices around  India and the world. In an era where greater wealth equates to greater complexity, this survey aspires to enable peers to learn from each other while maintaining total anonymity and confidentiality.

We have been receiving an overwhelming  response from a number of families who  have expressed a desire to  benchmark themselves against other families around the world. Our goal is to collate this data to help create the largest family office survey available today in India.
