GE) #boardcertification, the highest post-license board certification in geotechnical engineering. Mr. Wigger was board-certified for his advanced expertise, advanced education and experience, and attainment of specialized body of knowledge in geotechnical engineering. Mr. Wigger is a senior principal engineer and vice president at Terracon in Indianapolis, and since 2022, his practice has been within Terracon’s Alternate Delivery Division. In his role as a national manager, Mr. Wigger participated in development of Terracon’s program manual to standardize the practice for alternate delivery at the firm. He is responsible for providing executive oversight of personnel and managing special and complex alternate delivery projects. With nearly 25 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering profession, Mr. Wigger’s primary areas of expertise are foundations, site characterization, and slope stability. Prior to Mike’s role in alternate delivery, he led the Indianapolis geotechnical engineering team for over a decade on projects primarily in Indiana and the Midwest. Mr. Wigger has served in various capacities for the ASCE Metropolitan Indianapolis Branch including serving as President. He is a Past-Chair of the ASCE Geo-Institute Indiana Section, and he currently serves on the ACEC Indiana Section Board of Directors. Mike received his B.S. and his M.S. in civil engineering with geotechnical engineering emphasis from Purdue University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas. Congratulations to Bret Lingwall, Ph.D., P.E., BC. GE, F. ASCE for achieving his Board-Certified Geotechnical Engineer (BC. Dr. Lingwall was board-certified for his advanced expertise, advanced education and experience, and attainment of specialized body of knowledge in geotechnical engineering. Dr. Lingwall is a geotechnical engineering team lead for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Technical Service Center in Denver, CO. Prior to joining the USBR, Dr. Lingwall was an associate professor of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and was a consulting engineer. With 20 years of experience as a geotechnical engineer, his research and practice encompass many dimensions of geotechnical, geo-environmental, bio-geotechnical and earthquake engineering. Dr. Lingwall’s research includes biomimicry, carbon sequestration, soil health, critical minerals, erosion, PFAS, mine tailings, and wildland fire. His current practice focuses on large dams and risk analysis of complex geotechnical systems. Bret received his B.S. and M.S., in civil and environmental engineering, and a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering with an emphasis on geotechnical earthquake engineering from the University of Utah. Bret is a licensed professional engineer in Utah, and he serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Engineering. For more on the BC. Mr. Curfman was board-certified for his advanced expertise and experience, advanced education, and attainment of specialized body of knowledge in port engineering. Mr. Curfman joined Moffatt & Nichol as Vice President for Federal Strategy in August 2023. He is responsible for strategy and business development for the firm’s federal programs. Prior to his current role, Mr. Curfman had a distinguished 34-year federal career focused on installation planning, design, construction, environmental, energy, maintenance and operations, and management for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. He also has 7 additional years of consulting engineering experience in structural and coastal engineering. Most recently, Mr. Curfman served as the Department of Navy Senior Executive responsible for Military Facility Design and Construction and the Chief Engineer at the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). A member of ASCE and SAME, Mr. Curfman has received numerous awards including Secretary of the Navy Environmental Awards, National Institute of Building Sciences Member Award, Superior and Meritorious Civilian Service Awards, NAVFAC Engineer of the Year, and Virginia Tech Distinguished Alumni Award. Mr. D’Argenzio was board-certified for his advanced expertise and experience, advanced education, and attainment of specialized body of knowledge in port engineering. Mr. D’Argenzio is a senior associate at MRCE with more than 35 years of experience, combining a geotechnical specialty with structural foundation design engineering for a variety of marine structures, deep foundations, and excavation support structures. He specializes in the analysis and design of various marine and waterfront structures in the New York / New Jersey area and Virginia. His experience includes analysis and design of crane rail foundations, cantilever and anchored bulkheads, platforms, piers, wharfs, breasting and mooring structures, timber and buckling type fender systems, temporary sheet pile cofferdams, and floating docks. Mr. D’Argenzio has led and managed teams of geotechnical and structural engineers on a wide variety of challenging marine projects including rehabilitation of port structures, reconstruction of waterfront properties and parks, and active public and commercial vessel berthing facilities. Mr. D’Argenzio is an active member of ASCE, ACI, DFI, and The Moles. He is co-chair of the New York City Waterfront Code Committee for Geotechnical, Coastal & Structural Design. He is a past chair and member of ACI Committee 543 – Concrete Piles and ACI Committee 357 – Offshore & Coastal Concrete Waterfront Structures; past chair and member of ASCE/ COPRI Met Section Chapter. Dr. Maillacheruvu was board-certified for his advanced expertise, advanced education and experience, and attainment of specialized body of knowledge in #waterresourcesengineering. Dr. Maillacheruvu serves as the Interim Dean of the Bradley University: Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Bradley University: Foster College of Business in Peoria, Illinois. Dr. Maillacheruvu’ s teaching interests are in environmental engineering, particularly in biological treatment processes, site remediation, geoenvironmental engineering, environmental modeling, and fluid mechanics. He has taught groundwater hydrology, sustainability and public policy, environmental regulations and policy, numerical methods, geotechnical engineering, and pavement design. His research interests include biological treatment systems, industrial waste treatment and reuse, mathematical modeling of water environmental systems, and hazardous waste treatment and management, soil and groundwater clean-up. An active leader in numerous professional organizations, Kris has co-authored dozens of refereed publications and book chapters, many in environmental and water resources engineering. He has earned many recognitions including the ASCE Faculty Advisor of the Year (Region 3), Putnam Award for Teaching Excellence (Bradley’s highest award for teaching), Outstanding Academic Advisor from the Student Senate, and multiple Outstanding Faculty Awards. Kris serves on the Easter Seals’ Passage to India Board, which serves children with developmental disabilities; serves on the Board of North South Foundation (Peoria), which focuses on education; and served as a mentor in Peoria District 150 schools. Kris received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and his M.S. and Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Iowa. He has managed and executed notable projects with successful track records in project design, schedule, budget, deliveries, and construction. Mr. Le’s career at the Port of Long Beach began in 2009 and currently has been leading the work on the Port of Long Beach Terminal Development and Water/Sewer Capital Improvement Program. In his role, Mr. Le executes a wide range of civil engineering projects for land development; coordinates between clients, architects, contractors, utility companies and stakeholders; project management in scope, project budget, schedule, and deliveries; and oversee staff engineers with technical guidance, engineering solutions, and construction plan review. Tristan received his B.S. in civil engineering from the California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and is a licensed civil engineer in California. He is a member of ASCE, APWA, and AWWA. Tristan was a recipient of the APWA Southern California Chapter's Building Excellence Shaping Tomorrow (BEST) Award for his team’s work on the Port of Long Beach Middle Harbor Program Phase 1 in 2015 and Phase 2 in 2017.
