Welcome to Designing in Slack (at Slack)! This series is ✨ designed ✨ to give you a taste of all the ways you can incorporate Slack into your design processes. For our first installment, we’re taking a look at crit reviews. Back in 2020, we needed to rethink how we ran our design crits. This was during the pandemic, so it was especially important to do this in a way where everyone could have a voice, regardless of their location or time zone. The solution? We started hosting crits in channel threads! While live discussions still took place in huddles, we made sure everything was documented within a thread, so folks coming in after the fact could easily catch up and share their own questions and insights. For additional clarity, we added an emoji key to make it easy to scan for specific types of feedback — talk about “following the thread!” Stay tuned for Part 2 of our series, and let us know in the comments how you use Slack to support your design efforts!

Listen in on a conversation with Heather Phillips, who leads Slack's Studio Team, on how they uphold the moments of delight that you all have come to know and love. Full interview on the Supra Insider podcast with Marc Baselga and Ben Erez.
Does this feel like Slack? 🤔 Throughout our product development process, we constantly ask ourselves this question. This has become core to how we work and build products at Slack. Excited to share this recent conversation I had with Marc Baselga and Ben Erez on the Supra Insider podcast. We went deep on why delighting users through branded moments is good for business, how Slack thinks about making new features feel "Slacky"(spolier: the team I lead is responsible for bringing many of these moments to life) and more! Give it a listen or a watch (apparently I like to look off camera while forming my thoughts!) Links to the episode in the comments👇
