Introducing 3D-printed dentures with naturally layered teeth using Stratasys TrueDent solution I’m pleased to share, for the first time ever, a proof-of-concept to produce full dentures with naturally layered teeth using PolyJet multi-material 3D printing (TrueDent resin printed on the J5 DentaJet 3D printer). This innovative technology is based on so-called “tooth structure databases according to Schweiger”, which are based on a patented technology. In addition to the external tooth structures, the internal structure of the dentine (= dentine core = dentine-enamel junction) is also taken into account for the design and production of the teeth/prostheses. Initial results have revealed a remarkably natural appearance of the dentures, marking a significant advancement in dental prosthetics. A special acknowledgment goes to Nicolay Goltsberg from Stratasys, who made a decisive contribution to the success of this project with his tireless efforts. Please be aware that TrueDent resin is not available in Europe yet. This proof-of-concept was developed thanks to exclusive early access provided to Munich University (LMU) for research purposes. This working model is not available commercially.
