Meet the DOTX 225: A Legacy of Innovation in Rail Testing Originally built as a standard boxcar and later transformed by the Federal Railroad Administration into a state-of-the-art Automated Track Geometry Measurement System (ATGMS) vehicle, the DOTX 225 has a rich history in advancing rail safety and efficiency. After being purchased in 2015 and refurbished at the #ENSCO facility in Chambersburg, PA, the DOTX 225 played a crucial role in demonstrating ATGMS technology on freight lines across the country, surveying approximately 135,000 miles under ATIP between 2017 and 2023. Fast forward to today, the DOTX 225 is now dedicated to the TTC and is set to play a pivotal role in our upcoming on-track demonstration at the Precision Test Track (PTT). The PTT is used to confirm vehicle/track interaction service worthiness of rail vehicles, analyzing characteristics like Pitch & Bounce, Yaw & Sway, and Twist & Roll caused by track geometry.
