HOLYOKE — A school bus company will pay more than $1.4 million in a settlement for excessively idling its buses in environmental justice areas of Holyoke and Worcester.

In its settlement with the Conservation Law Foundation, Durham School Services and its parent company National Express will revise their anti-idling policy and enhance employee training, in addition to investing $1 million in transitioning its fleet to electric vehicles.
