DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers veteran Mark Canha will get a second straight day off on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (43-49) and Guardians (57-33) play at 6:40 p.m. at Comerica Park.

Shortstop Javier Baez will also be coming off the bench after starting the first two games of the series.

In addition to Canha and Baez, catcher Carson Kelly and infielder Andy Ibanez will be available off the bench.

On the mound, Tigers right-hander Reese Olson (3-8, 3.22 ERA) is scheduled to face Guardians righty Tanner Bibee (7-3, 3.67).

Bibee was runner-up to Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson in the 2023 American League Rookie of the Year balloting. He had a 2.98 ERA in 25 starts, striking out 141 and walking 45 in 142 innings.

There’s been no sophomore slump. Bibee’s strikeout rate has gone up and his walk rate has gone down in Year 2.

Olson struck out eight over 5 2/3 innings to earn a victory in his last start on July 5 at Cincinnati.
