Eric Bana is venturing into the wilderness of America’s national parks in upcoming limited series Untamed

Created by Mark L. Smith (American Primeval, The Revenant) and Elle Smith (The Marsh King’s Daughter), the character-driven mystery thriller follows Kyle Turner (Bana), a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast territories. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.

Additional cast members include Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Apples Never Fall) who will play Paul Souter. Souter has been the chief park ranger in Yosemite for half his life. He’s a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to Turner. He’s comfortable in all facets of his job, whether it’s dealing with crime inside the park or with the bureaucracy around it.

Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land, The Staircase) also joins as Jill Bodwin. Jill is Turner’s ex-wife, a former teacher and park counselor, who remarried a few years after their divorce. Despite the fracturing of their marriage, Jill and Turner maintain a strong bond, held together by events from their past.

Also joining the cast is Lily Santiago (La Brea, Mary Jane) as Naya Vasquez. Young and ambitious, and a former Los Angeles cop, Vasquez is the newest addition to Yosemite's ranger squad. She came to the park to find a new life with her 4-year-old son, Gael. Despite not knowing her way around a wild landscape like Yosemite, her strong will, astute investigative skills, and big-city homicide techniques become useful tools in helping solve a murder that is distinctly human.

Then there’s Wilson Bethel (Daredevil, All Rise) taking on the role of Shane Maguire, a former army ranger who now uses his skills as the park’s wildlife management officer. Maguire’s a loner, preferring to live by himself in the wilderness where it’s easier to follow his own rules.

Bana (Dirty John, Troy) is an executive producer of the six-episode drama, while Smith and Smith also serve as executive producers and writers. Untamed is also executive produced by John Wells for John Wells Productions (Maid, Shameless), Escape Artists Entertainment (The Equalizer 3, Being the Ricardos), Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions (Chief of Station, You Don’t Know Jack), and Cliff Roberts (The Midnight Sky, Emancipation). The series is a co-production with Warner Bros. Television Studios (YOU, Sweet Tooth).

Keep coming back to Tudum to find out when Untamed will arrive, and for more updates on Bana’s journey into the woods…
