Detail Duties

For the duration of this detail, the Acting Deputy Executive Officer (DEO) will report to the Acting Executive Officer (EO), NIMH. The Acting DEO will:

  • Serve as an advisor to the IC Director and senior staff on all phases of the administrative management of the IC;
  • Oversee the implementation of a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the IC;
  • Develop, coordinate, integrate, and articulate new organizational functionalities;
  • Analyze and review operations to stimulate management improvement;
  • Execute administrative and management policies for the IC;
  • Serve as the supervisor of two staff members in the Office of Management Executive Office, including assigning work, evaluating performance, giving advice and counsel, approving leave, and all other supervisory responsibilities as described in the Position Description;
  • Serve as the principal advisor for all human resource management activities, including regulatory requirement compliance, recruiting, position and pay management, employee development, and other personnel functions;
  • Serve as the principal advisor for all acquisition management activities related to the IC;
  • Participate in and oversee planning related to the IC information technology function;
  • Oversee the budget process for the IC;
  • Participate in and oversee planning related to space, telecommunications, travel, property accountability, internal controls, and timekeeping and leave.
