What will the Yankees do at this year’s trade deadline?
General manager Brian Cashman is expected to bolster the bullpen and add infield reinforcements as his club looks to climb out of the spiral they’ve fallen into over the last few weeks.

But there may be another area in which the Yankees try to add some reinforcements before the July 30 trade deadline.
Per The Athletic’s Jim Bowden:
“Even though Giancarlo Stanton should return from his hamstring injury “shortly” after the All-Star break, the Yankees know he’s a high risk for another injury, so they will consider trading for a DH/outfield bat as well to protect themselves.”
Stanton — who was experiencing a bounce-back stretch — has been out since June 23 with a hamstring injury. Manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Tuesday that he could be “getting ready to play” after next week’s All-Star break.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported earlier this week that the Yankees will be one of the more “aggressive” teams at the trade deadline.
Adding relievers will certainly be an area of focus as the Yankees’ bullpen put up a 5.10 ERA in June, the second-worst in baseball.
