Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell’s move to Ligue 1 side Toulouse is back on after initially breaking down over personal terms earlier in the week.

A deal was agreed between the two clubs over the proposed transfer of the 21-year-old for a fee in the region of £4million ($5.1m) and now looks to have been revived. Cresswell travelled to France but returned to Leeds and began pre-season testing when the deal fell through.

A Leeds academy product, Cresswell has made 14 senior appearances for Leeds. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Millwall, playing 30 times.

Leeds sold fellow academy product Archie Gray to Spurs for around £40m earlier in the week while Joe Rodon came in the other direction for £10m.

United have been fielding interest in a number of players but following Gray’s sale, the club say are in a healthy position when it comes to profitability and sustainability rules (PSR)  and are under no pressure to sell more assets.

There is also interest from Stade Rennais in midfielder Glen Kamara but Leeds are not looking to sell the 28-year-old.

Jamie Shackleton left the club at the end of his contract this week and has since signed for Sheffield United.
