The OC Fair opens today at 11 a.m., kicking off 23 days of adrenaline-pumping fun, eating your way through an afternoon and still finding room for another treat, and watching those racing pigs fly.

Headed to the OC Fair this weekend? Here are some things to do:

•Off the Vinyl will be rocking out each evening this weekend at the Baja Bar and Grill, while Danny Maika will be performing Friday and Saturday night at the OC Promenade Stage..

•Tour the Art of Music Experience, a large exhibit in the Huntington Beach Building showcasing hand-painted reproductions of album covers, legendary musicians, neon signs and displays

•Cheer on the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs; races start every hour and a half beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday and 12:30 p.m. on the weekend in the Plaza Pacifica. The last race is 8 p.m. each day.

•There are nightly food contests for children and adults, they are free and fun, in the OC Promenade starting at 7 p.m. Can you eat fried Oreos the fastest?

•Hundreds of entries are submitted each year to the dozens of contests the OC Fair hosts and you can check out the winners in the OC Promenade and the buildings to either side, along with other locations. There are extravagant table settings, quirky collections, striking photographs, intricate woodwork pieces and so much more.

•There will be showcases and competitions in the livestock area this weekend featuring pygmy goats, Boer goats and llamas. The Golden State Pygmy Goat Association Show will be Sunday.

In the Action Sports Arena (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):

•July 19: OC Brew Hee Haw, a craft beer festival, one evening session

•July 20: OC Brew Hee Haw, a craft beer festival, two sessions

•July 21: Closed

Playing at the Hangar (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):

•July 19: Start Making Sense, a Talking Heads tribute band, 8:15 p.m.

•July 20: Hollywood U2, a U2 tribute band, 8:15 p.m.

•July 21: One More Night, a tribute to Phil Collins and Genesis, at 8:15 p.m.

Playing at the Pacific Amphitheatre (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):

•July 19: Chris Young with Conner Smith at 7:30 p.m.

•July 20: ABBA L.A. and Bee Gees Gold in “The Greatest Show That Never Was” at 7:30 p.m.

•July 21: Happy Together tour at 8 p.m.
