Barbara Reed Greenfield OBITUARY

Barbara Reed Greenfield took her final trip on August 26, 2024. Born on January 1, 1942 in Canandaigua, New York, Barbara lived a vibrant and well-traveled life, fueled by a passion for service and a commitment to her family and community. The daughter of the late Harrison and Marjorie Reed, Barbara grew up on the family dairy farm, Reed Acres, in Honeoye, New York. Following graduation from Honeoye Central School in 1959, she attended Syracuse University, where she joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and met her husband of nearly 63 years, William “Bill/Greenie” Greenfield. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her son, Stephen (Melissa) Greenfield, her brother, Carl (JoAnn) Reed, nephew Brad (Julie) Reed, niece Ashley (Kalynn) Reedman, and many cousins and extended family members whom she loved dearly. Barbara traded the snowy winters of New York for sunshine and palm trees in 1976 when she moved to Anaheim Hills. In California, Barbara continued to make a name for herself in residential real estate sales, which she’d begun in New York, spending time at Tolar Realty Register and Anaheim Hills Realty before joining First Team Real Estate in 1989. At First Team, she garnered numerous awards and accolades over the years, including the First Team Real Estate Medallion, Sapphire, Top Producer, Overall Top Volume, and Hall of Fame Awards. In 2009, she was recognized with the prestigious First Team Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award. She was also recognized as a nominee for Anaheim Hills Citizen of the Year.Devoted to her community, Barbara was a longtime member of the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills, where she served alongside many women who would become lifelong friends. She was also a longstanding member and former Deacon at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. At home, Barbara was a talented gardener and exceptional hostess; she loved to entertain family and friends for various celebrations and gatherings, from her infamous New Year’s Eve bashes to card games with the ladies. But nothing excited her more than traveling the world. An avid traveler, Barbara traveled to more than 50 countries, creating lasting memories with all who were fortunate enough to travel alongside her. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 7 at 11am at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you make a donation to the Barbara Greenfield Memorial Fund at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church.
