Porcelain insulator

This is a stunning 1950s porcelain insulator, coated in a browned glaze. This is a stunning piece of americana history, and is actually in pretty great condition for what it was used for. This has a inner spiral so it would’ve spiraled onto a pole to pass electric wires through it. 5.5” x 4.5” All proceeds from this sale goes towards Sarge’s Veteran Support in Forks, Washington which serves the homeless Veterans of the Olympic Peninsula.

Glass insulators were originally designed to keep telephone and telegraph wires insulated from the wooden poles that held them up. Our purpose at Flea market Gardening now, is to use and reuse them in our homes and gardens!
