This promotional photo from the mid-'40s shows Walt returning to his first love: drawing. He acted mostly as a producer and story man for Disney, but he grabbed a pencil to pose for the cameras.

During the 1920's movies became very popular because American's increasingly turned to movies for entertainment. For example, people began to get into movies then because there were several new advances in the art of movie making. Many of the movies at the time were beginning to be made in Hollywood and that gave directors new chances to change the way movies were made. Therefore the directors added things that would appeal to this new crowd and that changed the way movies were made.

Exactly 90 years ago the world's most famous mouse hit our screens for the first time. To celebrate Mickey Mouse's milestone birthday Disney has released original sketches of him.
