Sand paper art

It's easy to create a beautiful sandscape! Simply peel off the protective paper by section and sprinkle sand onto the adhesive surface that is revealed. The velvet printing on the chipboard picture creates a bold, black border for the sand. Includes 24 landscape prints, assorted colors of sand in 1-1/2 lb. bags, and instructions. Finished project measures approximately 8 x 10-3/4. Color: Multicolor.

"Flower vase" Oil pastels on sand paper

The darker image is an actual sheet of fine grade sandpaper. The drawing was made directly onto the sandpaper with layers of Crayola crayons. The sandpaper was turned over onto a sheet of white paper and a hot iron melted the wax of the crayons onto the paper. I protected my iron with a couple sheets of white paper. This method gives the final image a pointillist effect.

Here is my newest (for August) bulletin board decoration. When I saw this sandcastle pattern in Family Fun, I knew I had to make something with it.
