Rebecca Carballo is an education reporter focusing on higher education and technology. Before coming to POLITICO, she completed a yearlong breaking news fellowship for the New York Times. She spent three years at the Houston Chronicle where she covered education, economics and health care. She has also covered immigration for the Times Union in Albany, N.Y., and city government for the Charleston Gazette-Mail in West Virginia. A Milwaukee native, Rebecca is a graduate of Marquette University, where she studied journalism and political science.
