UPDATED:

Latinos who create content for social media rallied in Corona on Saturday, July 1, to protest Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco’s participation in a border security coalition touted by Republican presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The protest by Latino Content Creators for Immigrant Justice sought Bianco’s withdrawal from the coalition, which DeSantis announced June 22 with a letter signed by more than 90 sheriffs, including Bianco.

“This is a blatant attack on our immigrant community for political gain and nothing else,” a news release announcing the protest states.

Bianco did not respond this week to a request for comment.
