While temperatures outside soar, youths in Riverside are spending time on the ice.

The three-day hockey and figure skating camps, run by the LA Kings Ice Town facility, are teaching youth ages 5-17 new skills. The hockey camp teaches “skating, shooting, stickhandling, passing and hockey concepts,” while figure skaters, “beginner through triple jump,” learn techniques including routine development and team building.

Other Riverside-area camps this summer have focused on basketball, animals and adaptive sports. Details about upcoming camps and activities can be found on the city of Riverside’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services website.
