The eighth Horse Town Brew n’ Que Festival came to Norco on Saturday, June 1, and saw cooks creating their best barbecue recipes in hopes of beating the competition.

The event at the George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center also included music, a car show, craft beer sampling and children’s activities.

More than 50 barbecue teams were set to compete in the contest sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. There was even a category for those between 6 and 16.
