Grandfathers for Golf, a nonprofit organization based in the Hemet-San Jacinto area that offers free golf lessons for children and teens, is seeking more volunteers to help with its summer program at the Golden Era Golf Course in San Jacinto.
There is a waiting list for this summer’s program because the nonprofit does not have enough volunteers, according to a news release.
Volunteers with the program work two hours a day, one day a week, according to the news release, and volunteers do not need to be golfers.
Young people participating in the program learn the fundamentals of golf, and each receives a set of golf clubs, golf bag, shirt and hat.
Since its founding more than 25 years ago, Grandfathers for Golf has taught hundreds of young people how to play golf, according to the news release.
