The demise of the California Journalism Protection Act I believe that the struggles of daily newspapers are partly due to tech giants such as Google assembling online news without compensating publishers and journalists. These companies profit from advertising and data analysis, yet fail to share revenue with content creators, diminishing newspapers’ financial sustainability. The result of making news available worldwide without fair compensation is tech giants unfairly exploiting professional journalists.
