CERTIFICA PE COURSE IN RUDRA VEENA 0.5448 : Nomenclature * Certificate Course in Rudra Veena Preamble — Rudra Veena is considered to be the mother of all the string instruments. In the History of Incian Music, references of Rudra Veena are found from pre-vedie era. Though, in modern times the instrument has lost is premier status in Indian Music, knowledge of Veena playin would be the most beneficial for any string instrumentalist. Hence, it is need of the hour to preserve, promote & propagate this ancient instrument. With this view in mind, the Department of Music proposes to institute a one year Certificate course in Rudra Veena from the academic year 2008-09. The details & proposed syllabus of the said course are as follows. 0.5744 Eligibility - A candidate for being el: ible for Certificate course in Rudra Veena, must have passed the H.S.C. (Std. XII) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State board of Secondary education or an examination, of another University or body recognised as equivalent thereto, The candidate's admission to the course will be subject to his passing an audition test conducted by the Head of the Institute. Preference would be given to the candidates who have some experience in playing string instruments like Sitar, Sarod, Sarangi, Rudra Veena and Violin. R-.3918 _ Duration I year R.5414_ Intake : Minimum 4 students, maximum 7 students R.B920 Fees: Rs. 6000/- per student + Rs.100 For form R592) STANDARD OF PASSING: Percentage of Marks Grade F (ail) R.54 22 : To pass in Practical Papers a student must earn 50% marks in practical paper R3423_: To pass in theory papers. a student must earn 40% marks in the theory paper R.34q24_: To pass a student must earn at least 50 % of marks combining both theory and Practical papers. Further that in exercise of powers conferred upon the Management Council under Section 54(1) and Section 55(1) of the Maharashtra Universities Act. 1994. Ordinances 5778 and 5779 and Regulations 5918, 5919, 5920, 5921, $922, 5923, 5924 and 5925 including syllabus relating to the Certificate Course in Rudra Veena is as per Appendix and that the same has been brought into force with effect from the academic year 2008-2009.
